An Introduction

Heritage Baptist Church have been blessed richly by the Lord Jesus with wonderful fellowship, rich study of the Word of God, and service in the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.  If you are looking for a church to call home, we invite you to visit us.  We would love to meet you and share our heart for ministry to see if Heritage would be the right place for you.

We value Christ-centered worship, strong fellowship in the Body of Christ, expositional preaching and teaching of the Word of God, and cooperative service for the expansion of the Kingdom of God. We have a strong testimony that there is power in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who has been raised from the dead and exalted to the right hand of God.  He has sent forth the promise – the Holy Spirit – to enable the Body of Christ to boldly proclaim the glorious Good News that there is salvation in no other name but in Jesus the Messiah.  And therefore, we beg you, as though God were making an appeal through us: Be reconciled to God through repentance and faith in the Gospel of Jesus!

Our Heritage in Jesus Christ

Heritage Baptist Church enjoys a rich heritage.  Our congregation was founded in 1998, but the roots of our heritage stand on the shoulders of great Baptists of the past such as Kiffin, Bunyan, Keach, Gill, Spurgeon, Broadus, Dagg, and Boyce who believed in the doctrines of God’s wonderful grace.

Even though we appreciate our Baptist heritage, we see ourselves more profoundly as Christians who cherish the inheritance found only in Christ, an inheritance which is “imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away” (1 Peter 1:4). For this reason, we joyfully proclaim the Gospel of God’s sovereign grace in our evangelism and our services, and strive to build up the body of Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit through obedience to His word. Our fellowship is firmly grounded in the New Covenant, the Word of God, and the righteousness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Worship In Spirit and In Truth

Since our goal is to worship God “in spirit and in truth”, Heritage strives to provide a simple format in each service so the worshiper can meet with God. As shepherds to the flock, our elders preach Christ crucified, encourage a life of godliness and devotion throughout the week, provide a place to assemble, and lead the service in a simplicity that does not distract from one’s worship. This concentration upon approaching the Lord in humble reverence is why we do not implement the trappings of theatrical staging that are prevalent in some churches today.

We believe the Scriptural evidence demonstrates that true worship is responding to the glory of God. Therefore our goal is to present Christ as revealed in the Word of God, and allow the Holy Spirit to cause the response of worship in the hearts of those in our congregation through adoration, prayers, and hymns.

Knit Together in Love

Nurturing the bond between believers is a particular focus at Heritage. Our Sunday evening and mid-week gatherings are a special time for prayer, fellowship, and discussion of the things of God, in order that we might redeem the time as wise builders, working diligently to build up one another in Christ by the sovereign work of the Spirit (Ephesians 5:15-21). Typically, we meet at a family home to encourage a warm atmosphere of Christian hospitality and intimacy.

On Wednesday nights, we divide our time between a period of prayer and supplication before the Lord and an elder-led study of Scripture or other bible-based material.  Sunday night meetings are divided between the men and women, and are constructed as a more informal fellowship time in which to have prayer and edifying discussions on Scripture or faith and practice.  Other fellowship opportunities like picnics, game nights, and ministry projects are all part of the joyful interaction we seek in our shared love for Jesus Christ and His people.
